The Betty Griffin Center staff is working to end family violence so that you, your family, friends and co-workers never have to experience abuse.
We’ve developed these creative programs and services to engage the community in preventing abuse from ever occurring in the lives of anyone, while setting the stage in helping people get back on track after they suffer sexual or domestic abuse.
Teaches children ages 3-17 to identify abuse, build self-esteem, resolve conflicts peacefully, develop and use a safety plan if necessary and to break the silence about violence at home.
Empowerment-based, safe and secure living environment that is affordable for domestic and sexual abuse survivors and their children.
COMMUNITY/ PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
We offer professional trainings in the community and schools on prevention and the dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse.
In conjunction with Flagler College, we introduced the Green Dot Program in 2017. Designed to prevent sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and bullying behavior on campus and in the community, we facilitate ‘bystander training’ classes with students and faculty members to train them on specific ways to safely intercede on behalf of others when someone uses words, choices, actions or behaviors to hurt someone else.
By shopping at and/or donating to one of our two thrift stores, you directly support the program and services while providing survivors the opportunity to shop, using gift certificates for the items needed to rebuild their lives.
